Notice of Tree Removals
Trees under the care and control of the Tree Warden are generally not removed unless a public safety hazard is observed during a tree inspection. A tree is considered a public safety hazard if one or more serious defects are identified, which pose a potential risk to public safety. Trees exhibiting such defects may be removed without notice. Such defects may include large cavities, cracks/splits at major branch unions, decay, dead/declining trees, etc. Otherwise healthy trees slated for removal must be posted to the public, and are subject to public hearing should the posting be appealed in writing to the Tree Warden.
