STRATFORD INITIATES COOLING CENTER PROTOCOL DUE TO EXTREME WARM WEATHER ADVISORY – 12PM Tuesday, June 18th, to 12PM Sunday, June 23rd
STRATFORD, CT – Mayor Hoydick is advising residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable, to take precautions ahead of the extreme temperatures that are forecast to impact our area over the next several days. The Town of Stratford will initiate their Cooling Center protocol upon receiving an Extreme Warm Weather Advisory Notice from the State of Connecticut.
This protocol is enacted from 12 PM Tuesday June 18th to 12 PM Sunday June 23rd and provides information through mass communication on personal warm weather protection as well as contact information for longer term sheltering and cooling centers locations.
For overnight and long-term sheltering, residents should call the 221 System by dialing 211. All cooling centers will be posted and updated under the State of Connecticut WEBEOC website.
